Inauguration of artisanal fishing support center of Buraco, in Angola

Following  the executive programs of the Ministry of Fisheries in Angola, in partnership with H Seabra, it was inaugurated in the past day 12/03/2013, the Artisanal Fishing Support Center, located in Buraco, Luanda Province.

This project includes the full construction of a reception and processing room, isothermal brine tanks, placing bunks for drying fish, building a structure for storing dried fish, rehabilitation of existing infrastructure and supply of materials and utensils to the practice of processing salted and dried fish.

There was present at the inauguration, several personalities connected to the Central Government, Provincial, and to the Institute of Artisanal Fisheries, as well as traditional authorities. We highlight the presence of Her Excellency  Mrs.Victoria de Barros Neto, Minister of Fisheries, and Her Excellency Mrs. Maria Antonia Nelumba, Secretary of State.

As part of Women’s Day celebration, it was released simultaneously inaugurated the Training and Support Project for Women Fish Processors, in order to meet the objectives of the Executive Program to Combating Hunger and Poverty Reduction.

This infrastructures are equipped with good conditions to allow the formation and processing Fish, in adequate sanitary conditions, assigning greater value to final product and thereby increasing the income of households engaged in this activity.
